In the event of my death
I was thinking today, about what would happen if I died. So I thought I would write a short statement of what I want to happen in the event.
Below is what I wrote:
Written by Thomas Gray on 30th April 2008 22:37 GMT.
Firstly, I would like my funeral to end just before sunset. This is because once
leaving my funeral, people will see the beauty of the sunset. And think of it not as
a loss in their lives, not a chance to stop. But a chance to go on, the end of one
the start of a new.Poem to be read by William Gray at the funeral.
“I don’t want anyone wearing black, instead colored shirts, skirts & thongs.
Read a couple of poems, maybe sing along to some songs.I think Billy should be there, maybe Steve & heslop too.
But let William do the picking, cause he’ll know which ones to choose.Make it more a celebration, of what life has gone before. Remember only the good
times we had and the wonderfull sights we saw.No crying please, well OK, but make them happy smiling tears. Just be gratefull
for the times we had, and the good few happy years. And do I have any regrets? Well of course there’ll be a few.
But overall my live was bloody good, now i’m looking through the old rear view. And now I’ve moved on, and i guess you will too. I’ll give my last peice of advice
and suggest something you should do.You know that something on your mind? Just get it of your chest today
because tomorrows words may never come, and that just might leave you with
too much to say.” - In loving memory of Thomas Gray born 17.07.89 died -Next to be read by Mr Robert Longstaff
“The words of Thomas Gray.
I hope I died skydiving, or in some other interesting way
Then you could say he died as he lived his life, strapped to another man.”I would like anyone who wants to make a speach, to be allowed too.
I would like anyone who wants to come to be allowed.
I would like my funeral to be held in St` Peters Chuch in Harrogate
I would like a touch screen computer to be placed at the back of the church and to have people sign
it if they wanted too. Then I would like it to be uploaded to the internet and make a website.
Let billy choose the domain name.
I would like one service to be held at st’ peters where everyone is invited.
I would like a small family get-together to be held where my bech is.
I would like to be cremated. I am not too bothered about my ashes.
I would like you to find the most beautifull place to watch dawn in the UK or ireland
and I would like to have a bech with a plaque on it:
“In loving memory of Thomas Gray - So that he may forever be sat on and enjoyed.”
I would like my room not to be left as a shrine to my death. I would like it to be converted into an office or a study
or even a small libary. Something productive, not pointless. On a funnier note I would like the staff at the Esso garage in Knaresbrough, to be notified of my death
and for them to expect a loss in sweet sales.(You don’t actually have to do the above sentance, but I thought I might make you laugh!)
Thanks for reading!
